Carl Frederick Buechner who was born on July 11, 1926, and died on August 15, 2022, was an American writer, novelist, poet, autobiographer, essayist, preacher, and theologian. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister and the author of thirty-nine published books. He was married to Judith Buechner.
Meet Judith Buechner
The first time Frederick Buechner saw Judith was at a dance hosted by some family members. James Muilenburg married them in Montclair, New Jersey, a year later. They then spent their honeymoon in Europe for four months. Buechner’s third ebook, The Return of Ansel Gibbs, is similarly accessible.
Buechner returned to Union to finish the final two years of his Bachelor of Divinity degree after his break. He received his ordination on June 1, 1958, at the same Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church where George Buttrick had given a sermon four years earlier. While not a pastor or an evangelist, Buechner was ordained as a minister.
Robert Russell Wicks wrote him a letter before he graduated. The Dean was once them. The elder of his two sons, Carl Frederick Buechner, was born on July 11, 1926, in New York City.
His parents are Carl Frederick and Katherine Kuhn. Despite the fact that Buechner’s parents all came from wealthy, upper-class families, his immediate family was never more than modestly wealthy.
